In 2018 Massa Lubrense obtained confirmation of the Spighe Verdi recognition for sustainable agriculture and landscape from the FEE
Foundation for Environmental Education for sustainable rural development. This is a flexible and adaptable program to promote good environmental practices in different local contexts.
Throughout the Massa Lubrense area, long expanses of olive and lemon groves extend, lending the town its intense aroma.
Geographical Conformation
The unique geographical conformation of the Sorrento Peninsula has allowed the development of agriculture since ancient times. The PGI Sorrento Lemons grown in Massa Lubrense are characterized by straw-yellow pulp, a juice rich in vitamin C and mineral salts, and a peel rich in essential oils. These characteristics allow for the production of an excellent Limoncello.
